This oil on hardwood painting depicts a kneeing male figure, head raised to the sky. Local model and clothing designer Johnny Westerfield was kind enough to come to my studio. With his help I was able to translate the frustrations I felt and give them voice to the world. Painted directly, with some slight tweaks of glazing to finish. I wanted to see how far I could push the edges and still maintain a semblance of form.
